What We Believe:

God – There is one God who exists in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ – The Son of God who was born of a virgin, He was wholly God, and wholly man. He lived a sinless life, died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of all mankind on a cross, was buried, arose physically from the grave and ascended into Heaven to sit at the right had of the Father to intercede for believers.

Holy Spirit – The Spirit of God is active in convincing unbelievers of their need of salvation from their sins and the Spirit is the Comforter and Guide who lives in every believer.

Christ Return – Jesus Christ will return to earth to rapture the Church.

The Bible – The Holy Scripture is God’s Word which is compiled of the Old and New Testaments. The Holy Scripture is inspired by God, is infallible and inerrant and is the final authority.

Man – God’s special creation, created in the image of God.  Through the sin (disobedience) of Adam, the first man, all of mankind fell so that all men are sinners and in need of salvation only available through Jesus.

Salvation – Comes by grace through faith. Salvation is a free gift of God and not by the virtue or works of man.  Salvation must be received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Assurance – Every person who is truly saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Eternity – Those who die in their sins without receiving Christ as personal Lord and Savior will spend an eternity in Hell. Those who die in the forgiveness of their sins through Christ and have received Christ as personal Lord and Savior, will spend and eternity in Heaven.

Satan – The deceiver and god of this present world in which we live. He was defeated and judged at the Cross of Christ and his eternal doom is certain.

Baptism – A command of Christ, and act of obedience, and a symbol of the new life in Christ.  Baptism is by immersion in water after salvation.

Priesthood of Believers – Christ is our great High Priest and through Him every person, born-again, has a direct access into God’s presence without the need of a human priest.  The believer has the right and responsibility to personal study and interpretation of Scripture guided by the Holy Spirit.

Church – The New Testament church is an organized group of believers that is the body of Christ. The church is to practice Scriptural ordinances and to actively participate in the study and teaching of God’s Word to engage in the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Ordinances – Two Scriptural ordinances given to the local church are Baptism of believers and the Lord’s Supper to be partaken of by Christians of like faith and order.

Prayer – Direct communication between the believer and God

Government – We believe in the autonomy of the local church and in the separation of the church and the state, but not in the separation of the government and God.

We adhere to The Baptist Faith & Message (www.sbc.net/bfm/default.asp)of the Southern Baptist Convention.
